Financial Planning Intern
Daphne Smoley is service-oriented and passionate about helping others in meaningful ways. As a Financial Planning Intern with Enspyre Wealth Advisors since 2022, she wears many hats and is constantly learning and stretching her abilities. With Heidi Helmeke as her mentor, she has developed a profound appreciation for personalized, client-focused guidance in financial services.
Daphne is currently a junior at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is a Dean’s List student and works as a teaching assistant at the School of Human Ecology. When declaring her major, she considered several different options before eventually landing on Personal Finance. She knew this field offered ample opportunities to help others in significant, potentially life-altering ways, and she became particularly interested in working at a private financial advisory firm, such as Enspyre Wealth Advisors.
Through the mentorship and guidance of Heidi, Daphne has gained on-the-ground experiences and skills that have helped her tremendously in her studies. She has found that Enspyre’s foundational beliefs, values, and practices are an excellent match for her, and she also credits Heidi with helping her to see the exciting and purpose-driven side of financial planning.
Daphne’s focus on service is reflected in the activities she has chosen to pursue. At UW Madison, she has served as the President (and is currently the Vice President) of a volunteer-centered, community-oriented organization with over 200 members. As a leader, she must be highly organized, diplomatic, and communicative. She is also a member of Badgers for Special Olympics, which supports those with special needs in their athletic pursuits (as the former captain of her high school’s swim and track teams, she is well-suited to this role).
When she’s not studying, working, or volunteering, Daphne enjoys skiing—both on the water and the slopes. She is currently training for a half-marathon and preparing for a semester abroad in Florence, Italy.
